Dear Agung,
When people think of work-from-home jobs, there is often a misconception that professional work-from-home jobs just don't exist - they are either scams or are more "no skill required" kind of jobs. But as someone who has checked out FlexJobs, you probably already know that that line of thinking is definitely not the whole story. In fact, telecommuting has grown almost 80% from 2005 to 2012 across sectors such as state government (122% growth), non-profit (87%), for-profit (70%) and local government (62%).
To highlight this point, our research team recently compiled a list of the most popular 20 work-from-home job titles. The list really shows the increasing variety work-from-home jobs, and some that might surprise you! For example, some job titles on the list include Adjunct Faculty, Marketing Manager, Travel Counselor, Bilingual Interpreter, and Director of Business Development. Forbes.com found this so interesting that they wrote an article about it this week!
As you continue your search for jobs with work-from-home options, or any of other types of work flexibility (freelance, part-time, flexible, or alternative schedule), keep in mind that there are more jobs out there offering flexible options than you'd ever imagine. Job titles so professional and specialized that we have to look up what they are (Airborne Sensor Operator? Perioperative Technical Consultant? Interdisciplinary Cartographer? Strike Team Specialist?). You get the idea.
