A couple of changes taking place (for affiliates)

Hi Agung,

There are 2 big changes coming up in the world of affiliate marketing.

Firstly there is the Facebook pixel event change.

What Facebook will soon require is that your event pixel (the one that tracks if a sale has been made) is on YOUR website.

They are already requiring this for some accounts and it's being rolled out over the next few weeks across all accounts.

So if you are an affiliate, that means you can't go giving your pixel to the vendor and ask for them to place it on their 'after purchase' page…

…Because that will be on the vendor's site, not yours.

There are several ways to deal with this change.

The number one thing to do right now though is DON'T PANIC.

While some vendors are scrambling to get their solutions in place, they are coming.

It's just that things may have to be handled differently in future.

For instance, one option I'm looking at (for my niche product affiliates) involves allowing the after purchase page to be on the affiliate's own website.

We'd give them a page to upload, with instructions (or code to embed in their site if they can't just 'upload' a page).

We will then simply check at the point of sale who the affiliate is, and automatically direct the customer to the after purchase page on the affiliate's website.

This would then load their tracking pixel, and then either redirect back to our site for the upsell pages, or get the user to click a link before going to the upsells.

We are meeting with a Facebook rep to discuss what we're doing there, just to make sure it's the best course of action.

The other big change coming is on Feb 26th, PayPal may not appear on all Clickbank order forms.

There are a bunch of hoops for vendors to have to jump through now, so a lot of us are scrambling to get all our changes done in time.

It shouldn't be an issue, but if it is, it might cause some conversion drops for some products that you promote in the short term.

In the long term, all vendors of top selling items, should get this resolved.

But just be aware, if you see any sales decrease after that date, go look at that order form on the product you are promoting.

If PayPal is missing, perhaps pause your ads and contact the vendor and give them the hurry up to get that resolved :)

Ok that's it from me for this update.

I hope that you have a great weekend ahead!
