Dear Agung,
Happy 4th of July this week! I always love the patriotism of this holiday, and the important reminder to appreciate the many amazing freedoms we have. Along those lines, we want to send out a huge thanks to all of our troops who help to protect our country every day, AND we want to thank their spouses and families.
Military spouses and families sacrifice a great deal, including often not knowing when or where they may have to move next. This can make it very difficult to find work or maintain a job, so opportunities that offer flexibility and mobility, such as telecommuting and freelance jobs can be an ideal solution. FlexJobs is honored to have helped many military spouses find jobs that fit their lives, and we are dedicated to continuing to serve this vital audience (which actually includes several of our own team members)!
I'd like to highlight a few of our resources, and please feel free to share them with any military spouses you know if you think they'd be interested!
So I hope well can enjoy BBQs, friends, and fireworks this Friday, but please also take time to thank those who make true sacrifices for our freedom! As always, thank you for trusting us to help in your job search to find great telecommuting, freelance, part-time and flexible schedule opportunities. And if you decide to use FlexJobs to get a leg up in your job search, be sure to enter promo code "NEWSLETTER" to get 30% off! Many cheers,

Sara, and the FlexJobs Team

Is Telecommuting Right for You?
Telecommuting continues to grow in popularity as more and more companies are allowing employees to work from remote locations. In fact, a recent PGi survey revealed that 80 percent of U.S.-based knowledge workers are currently employed by offices that allow telecommuting. While many workers thoroughly enjoy their flexible work arrangements, it's important to realize that telework may not be the best option for everyone. Understanding your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to telecommuting can help you easily manage your workload and avoid any potential pitfalls.

5 BIG Stats from the White House Summit on Working Families
The nation's business, government, media, and nonprofit leaders recently gathered at the White House for the White House Summit on Working Families in Washington, D.C. The event, which helped to shine a national spotlight on the issue of work flexibility, was hosted by the White House, the Center for American Progress, and the U.S. Department of Labor. FlexJobs' own Director of 1 Million for Work Flexibility, Emma Plumb, was honored to attend the event. She kept our team up-to-date throughout the event, and she described how incredibly exciting to see this issue discussed in front of an audience of more than 1,500 attendees!
