    | |  | |  | | Dear Agung, | | | | Mother's Day is this weekend, and we want to wish all of the mothers out there a wonderful, relaxing, and special during which you are appreciated for ALL you do! It's worth saying that we think moms should be thanked for what they do for their families every day, but also for what they do in the workplace. | | | | I read an interesting WSJ article about "What's Holding Women Back", that included some statistics that have really stayed with me: "Women land 53% of entry-level jobs and [get into the workforce] in large numbers... But then, female presence falls off a cliff, to 35% at the director level, 24% among senior vice presidents and 19% in the C-suite." | | | | These numbers highlight how women leave the workforce in droves during the escalation of their careers, and it's not because they have changed their mind and don't want to work anymore. Most often it's for their families, because it's been exceedingly difficult to find career options that allow them balanceto both being a professional women AND a mother. | | | As a mother myself, I'm thrilled to see that the trends are changing in our favor. There are an increasing amount of professional jobs that offer part-time or flexible schedules, telecommuting options, or freelance contracts in almost every career field. These jobs DO exist, and they can help moms (and anyone wanting flexibility) find a way to better balance their work and life!
